Being a used vintage piece it is listed as-is/ as-pictured/ as-found/ as-described. Serial number 456079 dates it to around 1965. Trumpet was made in Fullerton California. Case is in very good shape with no real issues to speak of. The brown plastic case has a soft black lining. Please see the pictures as they are an important part of the overall description.
From what little I read on the web this is a great pro quality horn. Ask any questions you have before bidding and I will try to answer them ASAP. I do not know much about trumpets so look at all of the many pictures to see what you are buying. Finish does show wear which I imagine is normal for a 40+ year old horn. Likely needs cleaning& oiling before playing. Sellers said it was found in a closet and probably has not been used for a long time. A Vincent Bach 7C mouthpice is also in the case and goes with this trumpet. Up for bids is this mid 1960's OLDS Studio model trumpet with a Olds case& 3 Olds mouthpiece. Auction starts at $49.99 with NO RESERVE! If you have any questions. Included is a holding strap and also a sheet music holder that can replace the 3rd valve slide ring. Case has some scuffs and scratches on it. Trumpet comes with a nice hardshell case. Mouthpiece included is made by Frank Holton& Co. Piston valves/ finger buttons move smoothly without sticking.
All valve slides are free moving and lubricated. But no deep or large areas of finish worn off. Finish on trumpet shows signs o f pitting. There are some very small dings and scratches here and there but nothing significant and nothing that disrupts airflow and standing wave. Bell marking reads"OLDS A MBASSA DOR FULLERTON CALIF" Trumpet is in a Bb tuning. The earlier ones were made significantly better. Quality went downhill for Olds as they started making student models and mass production a bigger priority. I would estimate this trumpet was made sometime in late 1960/ early 1961.
The 350'000 series were made starting in June of 1960 and by the time it got to 400'000.
